Research Software Developer
Rafael Ladislau Alves joined CUSP as a Software Developer. In this role, he creates tools to support CUSP’s Data Facility (DF) users in their data discovery & research activities and helps to streamline & integrate DF operational workflows. Rafael also evaluates potential projects for technical merit and feasibility, adapts open source tools for use in the facility and documents code in order to ensure all work is reproducible and extensible.
Prior to CUSP, Rafael was a Developer at OLX Brasil where he helped restructure their software platform using micro-services architecture focusing on performance, availability and auto scaling. Prior to his work at OLX, Rafael led a development team at Bomnegocio.com implementing SEO strategies and worked as a Developer at Movile.
Rafael brings in-depth experience working with end users to design and implement functional software specifications. He has a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Computer Science from Universidade Federal Fluminense and is passionate about adapting technology to enhance efficiency.
