Assistant Director, Academic Services
Sattik Deb serves as the primary advisor for CUSP students. He oversees the student experience including enrollment, academic advising, degree and academic progress tracking, degree certification, student life, and student conduct. Sattik supports students and advocates on their behalf regarding academic or personal challenges, and assists them in navigating and connecting with NYU resources.
Sattik is responsible for overseeing implementation of university and department policy and rules within the department. He communicates with students in order to facilitate open communication regarding the department, events, student life, and curriculum. He produces, directs, and presides over keystone events include orientation, final capstone presentations, and CUSP’s convocation ceremony.
In addition to his student-facing responsibilities, he also aids in curriculum development, and establishes teaching schedules in consultation with the faculty and assigning faculty to meet the needs of the curriculum.
Prior to NYU, Sattik served as the Director of Student Services at the Rutgers University School of Management & Labor Relations, where his portfolio included recruiting, admissions, academic advising, career services, and alumni relations.
Sattik’s doctoral work is in ABD status at Rutgers University in Education, Culture, and Society and his dissertation is titledReconceptualizing Student Development Theory Through University-School Partnerships. Sattik received his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and his Master of Education in College Student Affairs at Rutgers University. He is an active member with the American College Personnel Administration (ACPA) and the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators (NASPA).
