Adjunct Associate Professor

Lucius Riccio is an Adjunct Professor of Operations and Decision Models at Stern School of Business, a Lecturer of Management and the Director of the Management concentration at Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs, and is an Adjunct Professor at Columbia’s Business School and College of Engineering, where he teaches decision sciences and operations management. He is Executive Vice President and Partner of Gedeon GRC Consulting, a full-service engineering consulting firm, and a Managing Partner of LimoGreen, the environmental transportation company.

Professor Riccio served in a variety of government, not-for-profit and private sector positions. Most notably, he was the Commissioner of NYC’s Department of Transportation and served on the Board of Directors of NY’s Metropolitan Transportation Authority. Prior to those positions, he was the Assistant Commissioner of NYC’s Department of Sanitation, Deputy Commissioner for Highways (NYC), Assistant Director for Research at the Police Foundation (Washington D.C.), served on the staff of the President’s Commission on Law Enforcement Productivity, was a consultant to the Federal Judicial Center of the Supreme Court of the US and the US Department of Justice, and was Senior Vice President and partner at Urbitran Associates and Managing Director for Special Projects at Douglas Elliman Real Estate (NYC).

He has published extensively, served on the editorial board of the Operations Research Journal, received the ORSA (now INFORMS) President’s Award for Lifetime Achievement, received the Ike Grainger award from the United States Golf Association for 25 years of service, the March of Dimes Service to Humanity Award and the City (NYC) Club’s Earthling Award for contributions to the environment. He has served on the board of directors of the Metropolitan Golf Association, MetroCommute Inc., Community Medical Transportation Inc., a Nasdaq listed company, and others.
