About this workshop*This workshop introduces how large-scale datasets and analytics can be used to address fundamental challenges of cities, and how engineers and scientists from a variety of academic disciplines can make a difference in society through an extraordinary career in urban informatics. In the workshop we will introduce and practice some core urban informatics principles on real-world open urban data. Specifically, you will learn:
- The full analysis cycle from data processing, feature extraction, model building, prediction and validation
- Discuss specific applications of urban data mining
- Identify tools and available resources across programming languages and environments
- Explore careers and education in Urban Informatics
