What is machine learning and how it can benefit the City?
Machine learning is leading the Big Data and Data Science advances across natural and social science domains. In this seminar we will introduce the historical and scientific background of machine learning, the core high-level ideas underlying the field, its intersection with other fields such as data mining and operations research, and its relevance for addressing some of the problems encountered across city agencies. The seminar is geared towards real-world application of machine learning in the specific urban context of city agency operations.
