Applications and Challenges of VR/AR in Future Urban Life

Abstract: VR and AR have shown their great potentials as promising future media that would revolutionize our monitors and mobile phones. They have already benefited broad applications such as real estate, construction, public safety, and, more recently during COVID-19, telework. However, they all face unique challenges in urban life. In this talk, I will briefly discuss my recent research on advancing immersive media towards being low-latency, energy-friendly, space-efficient, and human-aware.
