- Welcome to Laura Vert, our new Senior Grants Specialist. Laura will provide our faculty with both pre- and post-award sponsored research support and serve as CUSP’s central point of contact with both the Office of Sponsored Research and Sponsored Programs Administration. She is located in office #1322.
- CUSP Graduate Shreya Bamne is working temporarily as a System Developer for Prof Debra Laefer.
Research
- Congratulations to Abdullah Kurkcu, who was selected as one of the emerging leaders in transportation by the NYU Rudin Center.
- Congratulations to Prof. Kaan Ozbay’s research team, who had 10 papers accepted for presentation for the 98th annual meeting of Transportation Research Board in Washington DC.
- Congratulations to Dani Hochfellner, who received a grant from the Social Security Administration with co-authors.. The project investigates “Incentives for Home- and Community-Based Care Under the Affordable Care Act” and has been funded for $185,464 for one year.
- Justin Salamon gave an invited talk at this year’s Speech and Audio in the Northeast workshop (SANE) hosted by Google in Boston, titled “Robust Sound Event Detection in Acoustic Sensor Networks”.
- Professor Julia Lane will be giving a talk on “Making Data Great Again” on November 3rd at the Open Data Science Conference in San Francisco. She will also give a talk on “Building a Governance, Risk, and Compliance Strategy with AWS” on November 28 at the AWS Reinvent conference in Las Vegas.
