CUSP Network – space for opportunities!

We created the CUSP Network –  a platform that brings together professionals from the urban industry who partner with CUSP. The mission of the platform is to create space where researchers, industry, and government professionals can collaborate on developing technological solutions for today’s urban challenges. By communicating and sharing knowledge across urban sectors we collectively aim to improve cities around the world!

The CUSP Network will serve as an incredible opportunity for partners, faculty as well as students to develop skills through workshops, data dives, and hackathons. They will attend conferences to gain a sense of the broad work being done at CUSP, as well as to present their own, and to find the synergies between academia, government, and industry. By participating in roundtables they will discuss varied perspectives and roles in city management, understand real-world issues better and approach their solutions in a faster, more productive way! Finally, by gaining access to a new recruiting pipeline accessible to members of CUSP Network only, students will get an inside view into potential future careers.

We have welcomed our members, students, and guest at our opening event last month. Stefaan Verhulst, Riccardo Negri, and the Applied Urban Science Group (Vickram Peter, Anna Kramer, Analaura Tostado, Max Yang, and August Liu) presented as CUSP representatives, while Federico Messa and Ai Yamanaka were introduced as our inaugural partners. We are excited about the new beginning of research synchronization to create industry-wide standards and close technical and policy gaps that hinder proper city development.
