Brendan Reilly is a Visiting Scholar and Entrepreneur-in-Residence at CUSP. He is an investor in startups in New York City, and is active in several groups supporting these companies. He has mentored and taught at over 150 corporate and social good hackathons. Brendan has worked in medical research at Penn Med, finding new connections between diseases using multiple sources of data. He also taught automated gene sequence alignment prior to the Human Genome Project and did research in Cardiology elucidating cell signaling in erythrocytes. At Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, he worked on submersibles and large data collection and analysis. He worked on email standards with the team that won the Postel award in 2009 and has taught Computer Science and Electrical Engineering to undergraduate and graduate students at a number of universities. Brendan was also a founding member of the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF), has served on various boards, including the IEEE Computer Society and the School of Engineering and Applied Science at the University of Pennsylvania.
