Want to learn how to use large-scale datasets and analytics to improve cities around the world?  Join us for the upcoming  educational workshop in Urban Informatics at Taipei’s U.S Education Information Center.

About this workshop:

This workshop introduces how large-scale datasets and analytics can be used to address fundamental challenges of cities, and how engineers and scientists from a variety of academic disciplines can make a difference in society through an extraordinary career in urban informatics.  In the workshop we will introduce and practice some core urban informatics principles on real-world open urban data.  Specifically, you will learn:

  1. The full analysis cycle from data processing, feature extraction, model building, prediction and validation
  2. Discuss specific applications of urban data mining
  3. Identify tools and  available resources across programming languages and environments
  4. Explore careers and education in Urban Informatics

*Participants will receive a certificate of attendance from New York University’s Center  for Urban Science + Progress (NYU CUSP).
